Core Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with personal injury cases from intake through trial
- Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Draft, format, file or serve pleadings, discovery, correspondence, subpoenas, and other litigation documents
- Obtain and organize medical records, billing records, employment records, and other evidence
- Prepare discovery responses and assist with document production
- Maintain case calendars and monitor litigation deadlines
- Summarize medical records, depositions, and other case materials
- Assist with depositions, mediations, expert discovery, and trial preparation
- Help maintain organized, accurate, and complete electronic case files
- Prior civil litigation experience (5+ years preferred); personal injury experience is required
- Understanding of California state-court procedures and litigation deadlines
- Produces accurate, polished work and pays close attention to detail
- Communicates warmly and professionally with clients
- Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team member
- Anticipates what needs to be done and follows assignments through to completion
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic case-management systems
