We are seeking a Contingent Worker (CW) – IT Software Analyst to support our IT Software Asset Management (SAM) function.

- This role will be responsible for managing software licenses, monitoring usage and compliance, supporting audits and renewals, and partnering with internal stakeholders and software vendors to ensure effective lifecycle management of software assets across the organization. The ideal candidate has strong experience in enterprise Software Asset Management, SaaS subscription management, and license compliance in complex IT environments. We're primarily looking for someone with stronger experience independently leading software asset management projects. Experience with Oomnitza is also preferred. End-to-end project ownership is needed. We need someone who can drive a workstream forward independently: organize the work, identify next steps, track open items, follow up on dependencies, and escalate blockers with context. They do not need to have every answer, but they need to be comfortable owning the path forward. Data management and operational rigor preferred. This work requires strong attention to detail, comfort working with system data, and the ability to validate outputs before they are used for decisions, audits, access changes, vendor follow-ups, or stakeholder communications. Software Asset Management lifecycle experience The ideal profile should understand the SAM lifecycle, including asset/software inventory, entitlement and license tracking, renewals, audits, data hygiene, and vendor/process coordination.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date software license inventory across the company systems.
- Monitor software usage and reconcile license entitlements to ensure compliance.
- Support internal and external software audits, including preparation and submission of required documentation and reporting.
- Assist with annual renewals by analyzing license positions, generating summaries, and identifying optimization opportunities.
- Respond to software procurement inquiries and support purchase planning and related requests.
- Update and maintain documentation related to software procurement, deployment, renewals, and contract lifecycle activities within the company's system of record.
- Interface with software vendors on behalf of the company to address licensing, compliance, and subscription matters.
- Generate clear and actionable reports on software inventory, compliance status, risk exposure, and cost optimization.
- Conduct user attestation surveys and support software governance initiatives to ensure appropriate software utilization.
- Service Ownership & Accountability
- Manage all aspects of Software Asset Management services within scope of the engagement.
- Maintain accurate license records and compliance tracking.
- Ensure procurement and contract documentation is current and complete.
- Deliver reporting and audit support in accordance with agreed timelines and service expectations.
- Execute responsibilities in alignment with a defined Statement of Work (SOW).
- Experience performing Software Asset Management (SAM) in an enterprise IT environment.
- Practical knowledge of software discovery, inventory, and normalization processes.
- Demonstrated ability to reconcile software licenses against entitlements to determine compliance.
- Working knowledge of common licensing models, including: User-based, Device-based, Subscription-based, Core/processor-based licensing.
- Experience managing SaaS and cloud software subscriptions.
- Ability to analyze contracts, license agreements, and purchase records.
- Strong reporting and analytical skills related to software inventory and compliance. Preferred Qualifications.
- Experience working with major software publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, and VMware.
- Experience supporting software audits and resolving compliance gaps.
- Familiarity with user attestation surveys and identity governance processes (e.g., Okta software governance).
- Experience identifying cost optimization and license reclamation opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage inactive users and remediate licensing risks.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities.
- Able to manage multiple software publishers and licensing models simultaneously.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with IT, Procurement, Finance, and external vendors.
- Strong documentation and reporting discipline.
- Self-directed and effective in a remote work environment.
- Software Asset Management Platforms: Experience with enterprise SAM tools required; Oomnitza strongly preferred.
- Contract Management: Experience using Ironclad for contract lifecycle management.
- Ticketing & Project Management: Proficiency in Jira.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, and related tools).
