About the Role

Our client is seeking a collaborative HR Generalist with at least five years of progressively responsible HR experience to join our small organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys building processes, and is passionate about supporting both people and business objectives.

As a key member of the team, you will partner closely with leadership and employees across the organization to ensure a positive employee experience, operational excellence, and compliance with applicable employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Benefits Administration

  • Manage end-to-end benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and annual open enrollment.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.
  • Partner with brokers and vendors to evaluate and enhance benefit offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.

Performance Management Support

  • Administer and support performance management cycles.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance improvement plans (PIPs) and documentation.
  • Partner with leadership on talent development initiatives.
  • Help drive a culture of continuous feedback and accountability.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Oversee full-cycle onboarding, ensuring a seamless and welcoming new hire experience.
  • Coordinate background checks, new hire documentation, and orientation processes.
  • Manage offboarding processes including exit interviews, benefits transitions, and final documentation.
  • Continuously improve onboarding and offboarding workflows in a remote environment.

Compensation Management

  • Partner with leadership on job leveling and compensation structure improvements.
  • Assist in annual merit and promotion cycles.
  • Maintain accurate compensation data and reporting.

Culture & Employee Experience

  • Champion company culture initiatives and employee engagement efforts.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations matters.
  • Support internal communications and employee recognition programs.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and remote-friendly work environment.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate HRIS records and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support policy development and documentation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to scale HR operations effectively.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrable experience in benefits management.
  • Demonstrated experience in benefits administration, compensation management, performance management support, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience working in a small company and/or remote-first organization preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently while partnering cross-functionally.
  • Must reside in CST or EST time zones.
