Summary The Program Coordinator RN is an Illinois licensed registered nurse who actively provides supervised patient care through a diverse role as a clinician, educator, and consultant in a financially responsible manner in an ambulatory care setting. The nurse works in collaborative relationships with members of the faculty and health care team to provide leadership in the coordination of patient care. Other Information Required Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Nursing required. Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required. BLS certification required. At least one year of experience as a registered nurse required. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to function independently, to organize, and be self-motivated. Responsibilities Collaborates with the Nurse Practitioner, Physician, and other members of the health care team to design and implement creative approaches to the care of the patient. Acts as a liaison for patients, physicians, and other team members. Consults with nursing personnel and other health care providers with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of health care delivery of the patient. Coordinates patient care for patients within a practice. Trains and supervises medical assistants and other clinical staff. Serves as a Preceptor for other nurses as they enter the department. Employs varied performance measures to analyze and enhance patient outcomes and staff/organization effectiveness. Acts as super user for the electronic medical record and audits the EMR for compliance with regulatory and billing requirements. Contributes to retention and recruitment efforts by effective role modeling, and participation in recruitment and retention processes. Participates in the development and implementation of instructional information for the department. Facilitates communication with staff from other disciplines on matters pertinent to patient care to ensure smooth transition between departments. Prepares and monitors educational materials for patients, staff, professionals and the community. Continues education by attending conferences, workshops, in-services, interdisciplinary meetings and seminars to upgrade skills, particularly with the advancement of diagnostic technology. Acts as a liaison to the University for student clinical placements, projects, and volunteer work. Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
